The government's Schools White Paper sets out the biggest changes to the SEND system in a generation: universal digital Individual Support Plans, National Inclusion Standards, a new tiered model of universal, targeted, targeted plus and specialist support, and a fundamental shift towards inclusive mainstream provision. With the reformed framework expected to take effect from September 2029, school and trust leaders are already asking what this means in practice, and where to start.
In this session, our panel of leading education and SEND experts will unpack what the reforms mean for schools and trusts, and how leaders across the sector are already preparing. Moving beyond the headlines, the panel will explore what ‘inclusion-ready’ looks like in practice, how Ofsted's focus on inclusion is likely to shape accountability, what the government's workforce and CPD investment means for staff development, and how the reforms will reshape expectations around parent partnership and communication.
