ON-DEMAND WEBINAR

Time to Prioritise Children’s Mental Health

About this webinar:

Those close to the world of education were recently hit by the headline that over 95% of teachers had reported a rise in anxiety levels amongst students*. So, clearly now is the time to prioritise children’s mental health.

After two years of disrupted education and a heightened awareness of mental health issues, it’s never been more important to prioritise children’s mental wellbeing both inside and outside of the classroom. As educators try to get as close to normal teaching as possible, and ensure their students feel safe, happy, and supported, schools should be aware of the influences on a child’s mental wellbeing and the impact this can have on their school life.

In this webinar, Rikki Harrison, from IRIS Education, is joined by Imagine Health’s Chief Medical Officer and Medical Director, Ian Gargan, to discuss the steps that schools and educators can take to improve pupil wellbeing. The session includes discussions around physical and mental wellbeing issues for young people and provides attendees with key takeaways to help them improve overall wellbeing in school. Topics include:

➼ How to identify and monitor signs of mental health and wellbeing issues in young people

➼ The impact of structure on a student’s life

➼ Helping children with challenges faced at home and school – including friendships, family disruption, bereavement, and loss

➼ How children have learned to deal with uncertainty, and the impact this will have on their development

➼ Helping children with transition, both in the school environment and throughout their own physical and mental development

➼ 5 tips and tools for educators to take back to school to help them offer support and promote positive wellbeing and mental health

*Results from a poll of 1,130 school leaders, teachers, and other staff carried out by the children’s mental health charity Place2Be and the National Association of Head Teachers (NAHT)
